Our Purpose

The 'Kel Strong' Mabatah Foundation was created from Kel’s firsthand journey through traumatic brain injury recovery and the challenges that follow. Our purpose is to provide individuals impacted by traumatic brain injuries and their families with hope, support, and access to resources that can make a meaningful difference during recovery. Through rehab scholarships, advocacy, and community support, we aim to help individuals feel empowered, supported, and never alone in their journey.

Founder's Story

After surviving a brutal attack in 2014 that left him with a severe traumatic brain injury, being paralyzed on his entire right side, and years of rehabilitation, Kel Mabatah turned his recovery journey into a mission to help others. Despite doctors believing he will never walk, talk, or be independent again, Kel fought to regain his ability to walk, speak, and live independently again. In 2020, he founded The ‘Kel Strong’ Mabatah Foundation to support individuals impacted by traumatic brain injuries and their families through rehab scholarships, advocacy, and recovery assistance. Since then, the foundation has raised over $350,000 to help individuals access the care, support, and hope they need throughout their recovery journeys.
